Mongolian Barbecue

Yesterday my friends Nazli, Ceren and me went to GoMongo, a famous Mongolian restaurant here in Turkey. We had Mongolian barbecue, which I love! If you have never tried it I strongly suggest it.

Basically when you say that you are going to order the Mongolian barbecue, they give you a bowl and a stick that has your name. You go to the open bar, where there is uncooked food, everything you can imagine. You pack the bowl with everything you want and at the end of the line, you are given a tiny bowl of noodles and you choose the sauces and the spices you want in your dish. When you’re done, your ingredients is sent to the traditional round grill where all the food is cooked together but separated from each other. These are pictures I found on the restaurant, GoMongo (not my pictures, curtsy of Google) :

These are my friend Nazli’s ingredients:

And this is my very Keto friendly creation. As much as I remember it has:

  • Shrimp
  • Beef
  • Zucchini
  • Spring onions
  • Stir fry vegetables
  • Mangetout
  • Pineapple
  • Broccoli
  • Celery sticks
  • Instead of noodles I asked for bean sprouts, it was awesome and as low carb as it can get
  • Peanut satay sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Oregano

It was so light and extremely tasty. If you have a restaurant that serves Mongolian barbecue in your region, you should definitely try it out. You won’t regret it. Enjoy.
