Dad’s Julienne Beef Saute

It’s not always mom that cooks in our house. My food enthusiastic dad is almost as bad as me when it comes to food, but he prefers Turkish traditional food than to explore new stuff like me. But he is far more organized than both me and my mom. Here is something he put together real quick.

Ingredients (enough for 6):

  • 400 gr beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peppers
  • 1/2 cup red peppers
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Parsley (for garnish)

Cut the beef julienne style, or buy it like that. Saute the beef with a little veg oil. Until every bit is grey and its juice is evaporated. Add the onions, peppers, and tomatoes with a little time between them. Season to your liking. Put the lid on and let them cook for a while.Β And that’s about it. Add the parsley on top, 5 minutes before taking off the heat.

It’s really simple but I’m sure he has some secrets he uses to make the dishes so tasty. Β It must be something in his touch. Enjoy.
