Keto Friendly Pizza

Om nom nom! It’s pizza time. And it’s carb free! (Well no direct carbs anyway)

Keto is forcing me to try out new recipes everyday and today, I’ve seen way too many full carb pizza ads to stay away from them. Here it is, as carb-less as it can. Below is my version of this recipe.

Ingredients for the ‘dough’:

  • 1/4 cauliflower
  • 1 egg
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Salt & pepper

Put the cauliflower in a food processor with chopping function and mince it just like making cauli-rice and work the processor 30 second more than that. Put it in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave the cauliflower for 7 to 8 minutes. When it’s done, take it out, let them cool off and dry the vegetable using a kitchen towel or paper towels. Get them as dry as you can.

Ingredients for tomato sauce:

  • 1 cup grated tomatoes
  • 1/2 cube Oxo Italian spice
  • Salt & pepper

When the cauliflower is drying you can prepare the pizza sauce. I used grated tomatoes and half an Oxo – Spag Bol Italian spice cube. Just put them in a small sauce pan and mix them together on the stove. Leave aside to cool of and thicken.

When the cauliflower is dried enough, mix with the rest of the ingredients of the dough and lay on a non stick baking sheet. Shape it with you hands. put in the oven to cook and form the crust. 10 to 15 minutes at 180Β°C.

Take the crust off the oven and put the toppings.

  • Pepperoni
  • Tomato sauce
  • Green bell peppers
  • Cheese (Mozzarella & cheddar)

I used Turkish pepperoni Sujuk but of course any type of pepperoni is fine. Just decorate your pizza as you like and put it back in the oven for a very short time. 5 minutes is more than enough. When you take the pizza off the oven, let it cool for a while, with the lack of flour, the overall pizza will be vulnerable for the first few minutes but will hold together after that. Enjoy.

    1. Hi thanks for liking and for your comments.
About half a year ago, I felt like I wasn’t happy in my own skin and felt myself become tired so easily. So I decided to do something. I tried a calorie counting method but it didn’t work as effectively as I hoped. Meanwhile my brother lost significantly more with Keto diet, so I decided to give it a go. Two weeks in and I already lost 3kgs (~7lbs).
Keto has very scientific explanations but basically you try to keep the sugar levels in your liver under 25 grams a day while staying away from food that have more than 30-40% carbs in them altogether.
      Hope this helps :)
