This is one of the most basic Keto dinners. Just a good steak and quick side dishes.
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper
Let the steak marinate as long as you can.
Meanwhile you can prepare the cauliflower puree. I used the shredded cauliflower I had in the fridge, prepared ready for rice.
Cauliflower puree ingredients:
- 1/4 Cauliflower
- Different kinds of cheese
- Salt & Pepper
Microwave the cauliflower with little bit of water inside or just boil really good if you’re using whole cauliflower. If you’re boiling, drain the water and puree the vegetable with a hand blender, until smooth. Add a little bit of shredded cheese, butter and salt and stir them all together.
You can eat the puree like that, but I wanted to do something extra. Put them in oven safe bowls. Add a good amount of grated cheese on top. I used Turkish Kasseri (Kaşar in Turkish) cheese – it’s like cheddar cheese, melts really good- and a version of mozzarella cheese. Put them on a pile on top of the puree and put in the oven for the cheese to melt and burn at the top. Monitor the oven closely and take them out at the form you want.
When you put the puree in the oven you can grill the steaks. Since my brother and I both like rare steaks, it only takes 2-3 minutes on each side. Even less time cooking on cast iron grill (like mine). They really did turn out delicious. Cauliflower and steak go well together. Enjoy.
