Burger Patty with Marinara Sauce

I decided to make some gourmet burgers but since I can’t eat carbs in my Keto diet it turned into an open faced burger. To help the flavor I made a tomato sauce to top it off.


  • 300gr ground beef
  • 1/2 slice of white bread
  • 1 big clove of garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh thyme
  • Oregano
  • Dried mint
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Cumin
  • Salt & Pepper

I put the thyme, bread and the garlic in a mini food processor so that the mix would beΒ homogeneous

Tomato Sauce:

  • Half a small onion, chopped thinly
  • Tomato paste
  • Grated fresh tomato
  • 2 cloves of garlic (half put with the onions, half after the tomatoes are in the pan)
  • Basil leaves chopped finely ( just like with garlic put some with the first of tomatoes, some just before taking off the stove)
  • Thyme
  • Oregano
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & lots of pepper

Longer it’s cooked the better the sauce is.

The aubergines at the bottom are just simply pan grilled aubergine slices. Try not to put too much olive oil in the pan
