Red Lentil Soup is the most well known soup in Turkish Cuisine.
- Red Lentils
- Chicken stock
- Bell Peppers
- Salt & Pepper
Boil the lentils separately at first. When foam forms on the water, try to take the foam off the surface. After the foams start, wait a little and add the other ingredients. About 30 to 45 mins later, take of the heat and use a hand blender to mix everything into a smooth soup.
If you use homemade chicken stock you don’t need to add any type of oil, the chicken’s inner fat is enough for the stock, but if you’re using store-bought cubes you can drizzle the dish with olive oil at the very end. Enjoy.
